No Fillers!

This week, we are presenting tracks from albums that contain absolutely no filler material—you know, the fluff bits to make an album out of a collection of three singles without costing the record company too much in studio time or songwriters’ royalties.

This week’s show goes with the theme of 12th anniversaries, this being the anniversary weekend of MOULa. So, lots of songs about silk and pearls…

Lost in 2021

This week’s show is our traditional yearly tribute to those great musicians we lost in the previous year, celebrating their life’s work and hopefully doing justice to their legacy.

A Bad Year for Good Music, remastered

This week’s offering is a remaster of our first show honouring those artists who we lost in the preceding year, covering 2016. With many of the artists featured, it seems almost like yesterday… yet they have been gone for good for over six years now.

The Quieter Bits (by the Noisier Artists)

Just to calm things down a little for everybody among the hecticism of pre-Xmas, this week’s offering is a selection of the not-quite-so-noisy songs by artists normally known to be rather the opposite, so join us, lean back, and be aware that “quieter” is a relative term…

This will be our last show of the year, and we will be back on January 2nd.

Not Your Average Christmas Music

This week, we feature the bits of Yuletide music that you are not already being mercilessly bombarded with at every street corner, store and mall and on the radio while driving.

The Modern Jazz Quartet

This week’s show offers a look at the Modern Jazz Quartet, formed in 1952 and going until 1997. A development of Dizzie Gillespie’s backing band, the group centred around the vibraphone as the lead instrument, making for a unique sound.

Rarities and What-Ifs, pt. 3 remastered

This week, we’ll repeat ourselves with the third set of rare tracks and bits with a back story that originally aired six and a half years ago. Quite a diverse collection, too, even if we say so ourselves.
