92 Steely Dan
The next show, on Sunday 13th, will be about Steely Dan, who blended jazz and rock into a seamless whole, and who happen to be one of my favourite groups. This will be Part 1 of a history of the band, and will take us from their beginnings to their finest album, Aja. Join us and groove again 🙂
Earth Day 2018
Today from 1300 KI time, we will present a–belated–celebration of Earth Day. Lots to enjoy in there, and we dug up a few rare bits, too.

Rarities and What-Ifs, part 7
On Sunday, we will delve one more time into the world of rare tracks, and songs with a bit of a story to them.

Turn it Up! 2–Hook, Line and Sinker
On the 18th of March, we will present our second selection of songs with great hooks–beginnings that make you want to turn it up! Europe switching to Daylight Saving at the end of the month, this show will start 1400 KI time instead of the usual 1300, i.e., an hour later than usual for Our American Cousins, same time as always for us Europeans, and we have no idea when the rest of the world decides to throw away a perfectly good hour of sleep, or whether they do so at all, so we’re not going to do a comprehensive, country-by-country listing here. There’s a Wiki for that…

A V-Day Show!
Yes, yes, it’s a few days late, but we will have our Valentine’s Day show on Sunday at the usual time, at the usual place.

Tribute to the Fallen of 2017
Our show on Sunday, January 7th will be a tribute to those great musicians who left us during the last year. Not all of them were well-known, but they all have had a huge impact on the music we hear today. A sad occasion, but we will be celebrating their music.
See you in the Cavern,

Announcement – Show 82 – Un-Covered
On Sunday 10th December, Radio Free D’ni will broadcast a show entitled Un-Covered, consisting of sets of tracks that have the same title but that are otherwise completely different. Initially we thought there would be few candidates, but as we dug into this we found lots, and Sundays show will just contain a few of them. Artists featured on Sunday will include AC/DC, Roxy Music, Joni Mitchell, Steve Winwood and David Bowie.
Join us at 8pm UK time (13 KI), Sunday 12th November, on Radio Free D’ni.
Use the links at the top of the https://radiofreedni.org page to listen.
In game we will be on the public plaza or in Second Life visit TJ’s Dance Hall where Ainia DaFente will host the rebroadcast into SL.
The direct links still work as well

Next show – 81 By The Book, Chapter 2
On Sunday 26th there will be a second show by Radio Free D’ni with a theme of By The Book. With stunning originality I have called it Chapter 2. Tracks will all have literary connections, some stronger than others. We’ve collected a lot of material and there will be a substantial postshow.
Xenipher’s Race will take place immediately before the show, in MOULa, and our preshow music will thus be the music for the race, which I can’t tell you about because it’s secret 🙂 But it will start at 1200 KI.
Unusually, I will be broadcasting the Xenipher’s race music and Ed will take over the stream at about five minutes before the show start at 1300 KI (8 pm UK time). We have managed a handover without dropping the stream before now, but if we mess it up, you may have to reconnect to the stream, or restart your music player.
This will be a mixed set, there will be less of the fast and noisy stuff. Apart from bits of Iron Maiden, Hawkwind and Abney Park that is. Some Steve Hackett, Gentle Giant and Mike Oldfield too. A varied collection, as usual.
Join us at 8pm UK time (13 KI), Sunday 12th November, on Radio Free D’ni.
By The Book: Chapter II
Sunday, 26th of November, we will present our second show of songs inspired by literature. The selections are diverse in style, so we feel everybody will find something they do not like… and vice versa.

80 Biting The Hand That Feeds You
Coming up next Sunday, 12th November, from Radio Free D’ni, Biting The Hand That Feeds You, a set of tracks by naughty artists who are fed up with the music business getting in the way of their creativity and, basically, tell then to go away, go very far away, and in a painful manner. Surprisingly, all of the artists continued to be successful, which must have annoyed the moguls no end. We have examples from The Who, Dire Straits, Joni Mitchell, The Kinks and of course Pink Floyd.
See you on Sunday, when you can use the links at the top of the page to listen in.
