68 A Bad Year for Good Music IV. George Martin
Show 68 was a celebration and a fast trip through the musical career of George Martin, the ‘fifth Beatle’
A man who became the head of the Parlophone label when it was EMI’s second string and turned it around with a wide range of artists, chief of which were The Beatles. A musician too, who played keyboards on all the early Beatles tracks, and wrote, arranged and conducted orchestral accompaniment, as well as film scores and other works.
Preshow was from the stash, where we have reached F – in this case Focus and Free.
Postshow contained tracks cut from the main show for time – there’s a lot of George Martin out there for you still to discover.
It has been suggested that a History of The Beatles might be well accepted – what do you think?
