109 Pat Metheny
With many of our American audience suffering under snow and a lack of telecoms, including our colleague Root Beer, we still had 17 listeners for our canter through just a part of the career of Pat Metheny. The show was put together by Hugh. Links as promised in the show are below the playlist tables.

108 Lost in 2018
Our first show of the year, and as is now traditional (as far as we can make it, being only a few years old ourselves) the show looked at artists and musicians who left us in 2018.
Notes, and artist suggestions, were contributed by Malaclypse and Hugh, as it was a very busy year, and we put in as many mentions as we could.
We had thirty listeners, which is very pleasing for the first show of the year – thanks to you all – bring a friend?

105 The Who, part 2
A slightly smaller audience than usual, on Armistice Day, which may have been one reason for it. We covered the two albums that The Who produced after Keith Moons death, and the recent comeback album. But most of the show was about solo work from the three, dominated, inevitably, by Pete Townshend.
A couple of late additions to the postshow were the Stephen Stills/Manassas version, the original version of How Far, to contrast it with the Roger Daltrey cover we had in the show, and a gratuitous play of Gordon Lightfoot’s Endless Wire right at the end of the postshow.

Show 105: The Who, part 2
This Sunday, 11th November, will see the second part of our Who wanderings. This will include the post-Moon Who and solo work by Townshend, Entwistle and Daltrey, along with some tracks where one or the other guested, either playing or as producer. We will also revisit Lifehouse, in the form it was eventually released in, a 6-CD boxed set sold by Townshend at gigs and from his website.
See you there.
Doobie-doobie Who 🙂
104 The Who, part 1
Our first show dedicated to The Who, an iconic English band that we have not featured before – I can’t think why.
We focussed on the Keith Moon years, when the founding members of the group were all together. There is so much good music from this period of the group’s life that choosing a 2 hour set was pretty difficult. I chose to emphasise the role that Lifehouse, the unrealised followup to Tommy, played in the success of the group, and played tracks released on later albums and singles in the order they would have appeared. Researching the Lifehouse concept and the plot that was to be played out brought new light, for me, on the lyrics in the many ex-Lifehouse songs that were to feature so brilliantly in later albums and singles.
