Winging It
This week, we will have a look at Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles band, Wings.

068R George Martin
A show I was very happy with, but was somewhat overtaken by the American Memorial Day holiday, reducing our audience a bit. Nevertheless, sixteen listeners at max, and a very well appreciated show.
As promised, the Mr. Kite poster that inspired that Sergeant Pepper’s track can be seen here.

George Martin Remastered
This week’s show concerns itself with the Fifth Beatle. So, it’s about Stuart Sutcliffe. Er, Billy Preston. Er, Pete Best… well, it could be about over a hundred different people who have been called the “Fifth Beatle,” but George Martin arguably was with the Beatles the longest and had the most influence on their sound, so we are going to have a look at his work with—and without—the Fab Four.

200 A Classical Collection
A very fine and refined evening was had by all, as we ventured into the vast area of Classical Music for our 200th show. At one point we had forty-two listeners – a new record for us for a non-special-event show, beating our previous record for the Enya show, way back when.

199 Good Times, Bad Times
Second in an irregular series of “time” related shows, this one took its title from the Led Zep track and followed that theme, with bad times first, turning to good times to finish with. Once again, a peak of 30 listeners came to the show, which was a good endorsement – we must be doing something right.

A set of tracks with unexpected instrumentals, either because the band is mainly vocal-led or there was something special about the track. A good number in the audience too – fingers are crossed that everybody comes back next week 🙂
